Before reading the article on autism, I didn't know much about autism. The only thing I knew about autism is that it is a developmental disorder that babies are born with. A lot of parents think that autism is caused by the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine but it is not. I want to know what exactly causes autism. After reading the article, I learned that there are many different types of autism. Doctors are conducting an experiment to see if any environmental factors cause autism. They believe that a mother's illness during pregnancy or the treatment of a baby in the hospital during or after birth may be possible reasons for autism. They also believe that the lack of vitamins, folic acid or a mother's health condition may play a role. Statistic have shown that the rate of autism has decreased in the past seven years.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephanie as well, I didnt know what autism was about until I read your article so it was very informal. But it is sad how we spend millions and millions of money on research to cure diseases and disorder and yet doctors could never find out the cure or some other story they come up with.
